On Wednesday, the 19th of September, it took place the 2nd TeCoLa Seminar on "Gamified Intercultural Telecollaboration for Foreign Language Learning" at Bordeaux University (France).
Many face-to-face and online participants registered at this event, specially teachers who wished to make themselves familiar with the pedagogical potential of intercultural lingua franca exchanges in the TeCoLa Virtual World.
Ana María Dorado Sanz, from de English Department at IES L'Eliana, registered online and attended the online streaming of all the presentations.
The seminar offered information and hands-on experience about learning stations at which students of different cultural backgrounds can meet and communicate in pairs or small groups while using their common target language (English, French, Spanish, or German) as a pedagogical lingua franca.
14.15 – 14.30: TeCoLa Presentation (Kristi Jauregi).
14.30 – 15.00: Gamified telecollaboration paths in the TeCoLa Virtual World (Petra Hoffstaedter and Kurt Kohn).

In the school year 2018/19, the TeCoLa project will increasingly support intercultural foreign language exchanges in pairs or small groups in the TeCoLa Virtual World. The TeCoLa team is currently developing learning station tasks covering a variety of topics in the target languages: English, French, Spanish, and German and teachers will be able to adapt learning station contents to the learning needs and goals of their students.
Descriptions of learning station tasks and of other task types can be found on the project website (www.tecola.eu) in the TeCoLa OER section under “English Tasks” and more task descriptions for the other target languages will be available soon.
